The Nvidia RTX 5060 Ti is expected to launch soon, targeting premium 1080p and 1440p gaming experiences. Details about the card have already surfaced online, hinting at improved rasterization, ray tracing, and upscaling performances. As per leakers and industry insiders, the GPU might be revealed at the CES event scheduled for January 7-10, 2025.
This article covers all the information you need to know about the upcoming RTX 5060 Ti.
Note: This article is primarily based on leaks, and some details may change following the official reveal.
Expected specs of the Nvidia RTX 5060 Ti
For the last couple of generations, the 60 Ti class of GPUs has focused on delivering high framerates at 1080p and 1440p resolutions. Both the 3060 Ti and the 4060 Ti have been some of the company's bestselling GPUs, given they balance pricing with gaming performance just right.
With the Blackwell lineup, Nvidia doesn't seem to be reinventing the wheel. The card is rumored to pack similar hardware lists as the last couple of generations, thereby relying on just gen-on-gen performance uplifts to deliver higher framerates.
VRAM leaks suggest that the card would be paired with 16 GB GDDR7 VRAM. However, industry insiders have hinted that the card would stick to the same 128-bit memory bus, like the last generation. This would keep the total memory bandwidth around 500 GB/s despite the large buffer.
For now, the rumored specs list is as follows:
When is the RTX 5060 Ti expected to launch?
Recently, a leak on the Chinese forum Boards Channels hinted at the expected launch window of the upcoming Blackwell-based RTX 50 series cards. Given Nvidia is already a few months behind schedule, the leaker suggests the company will be in a hurry to introduce the GPUs.
They have mentioned the RTX 5090 and 5080 would likely arrive in January, with the 5070 and 5070 Ti set for a February launch, while the RTX 5060 Ti and 5060 are expected to be introduced in March.
What is the expected price of the RTX 5060 Ti?
There isn't much information about the RTX 5060 Ti yet. However, given previous trends and the card's leaked specs, we can make an educated guess about what to expect.
In the last generation, the 4060 Ti came in two variants: the $399 4060 Ti 8 GB and the $499 4060 Ti 16 GB. Whether there will be an 8 GB variant this time remains to be seen. However, for the 16 GB variant, a similar price tag seems plausible.
However, we must note the extreme backlash the 4060 Ti had to deal with. If the upcoming GPU were to address that issue, we could likely see a $50 discount to $449. We are not expecting to see the 16 GB GPU at $399, however.
What is the expected performance of the RTX 5060 Ti?
In terms of performance uplifts, we are expecting the card to rely on gen-on-gen improvements in the Blackwell architecture to power all gains. The GPU doesn't seem to be pushing the underlying hardware to the point of delivering much higher framerates in the latest titles.
We are probably looking at 15-20% framerates in most games in terms of raw rendering capabilities. Nvidia would likely advertise upscaling heavily with this card, and given that DLSS 4.0 is hinting at even higher performance uplifts, we could see up to 40% gains in demanding titles.
Do note that these numbers are mere speculations and the actual product might have a different story to narrate.
