Rumors about the RTX 5070 Ti are piling up, as we now have multiple leaks hinting at the power budget, video memory configuration, and even the graphics chip that could power the SKU. Nvidia has also confirmed its CES 2025 showcase for January 7, 2025, with CEO Jensen Huang's keynote set for January 6, 2025, at 6:30 PM PT. The company is expected to introduce its initial wave of Blackwell pixel pushers at this event.

Here are all the details you need to know about the 5070 Ti for now.

Note: This article is primarily based on leaks, and some details may change following the official reveal.

The upcoming 70-class GPU is rumored to be a high-end 1440p and 4K gaming offering, much like the 4070 Ti and the 4070 Ti Super. However, this time around, the card will reportedly share more in common with the 80-class offering, thereby alleviating performance expectations.

For starters, the card will likely be powered by the GB203 graphics chip, which is also expected to be under the hood of the RTX 5080. This is unlike what was seen in the last generation, where the 4070 Ti was paired with the AD104, and the 4080 had the more capable AD103. This GPU upgrade will likely put the 5070 Ti ahead of its last-gen counterpart.

The card is also expected to pack 8,960 CUDA cores, up from the 8,448 units on the 4070 Ti Super. Do note that each of these cores is more powerful than what was provided with the last generation, which could lead to an impressive gain in rendering performance.

The card is expected to have the same 16 GB buffer as the 4070 Ti Super. However, the VRAM type will likely be upgraded to GDDR7 from GDDR6X. This could translate to a higher bandwidth.

The leaked specs of the RTX 5070 Ti GPU are as follows:

Nvidia RTX 5070 Ti
Graphics chipGB203
CUDA cores8,960
TDP
350W
VRAM
16 GB
VRAM type256-bit GDDR7

At 350W, the card would be quite power-hungry, setting it at par with the RTX 3090 and above the 4070 Ti Super (285W) and the 4080 (320W). If the leaks materialize and the card is launched with such a power budget, it won't be the most power efficient option in the market.

When is the RTX 5070 Ti expected to launch?

Leaks suggest that the 5070 Ti will be introduced alongside the more capable 5080 and 5090 at Nvidia's CES event. If the available information is correct, Huang could talk about the card at his January 6, 2025, keynote.

The GPU's availability might not begin immediately, however, with the actual date of shipping reportedly falling between mid-Jan and late March 2025.

For now, leaks don't confidently point to a price tag for the RTX 5070 Ti. However, looking at the 4070 Ti and the 4070 Ti Super, we can make an educated guess about how much the upcoming Blackwell card might cost. Given both the last-gen offerings targeted a $799 price tag, the RTX 5070 Ti could cost between $800 and $850.

Do note that this is just what we speculate, and the actual card might cost more due to inflation, the bumped-up hardware in the GPU, and other factors.

What is the expected performance of the RTX 5070 Ti?

While it's still too early to accurately gauge the performance improvements of the 5070 Ti in the latest titles, we can make an educated guess by looking at a leaked specs sheet.

On average, we are looking at a 20% bump in terms of the new GPU's underlying hardware as compared to that of the RTX 4070 Ti. Coupled with gen-on-gen uplifts, this could translate to about 20-30% better framerates, depending on the game. While these are rough estimates, we believe this is the ballpark of what the upcoming generation will deliver.

The 5070 Ti seems to be much closer to the 5080 than the base 70-class offering. If the leaks are true, this could disconnect the GPU even more from its moniker, which is quite counter-intuitive.

The 5070 Ti seems to be an impressive upgrade over the last-gen 4070 Ti cards. Given its rumored specs, we can expect the card to pack some serious rendering prowess for high framerate 1440p and 4K gaming. However, we must emphasize that the information presented here is based on leaks, and the actual product might vary.
