According to popular leaker NateTheHate, the Nintendo Switch 2 will officially be unveiled on January 16, 2025. This will seemingly be in the form of a reveal trailer, and according to the leaker, the footage will be centered around the hardware itself — many details of which have been leaked already on the internet by a number of sources.
Speaking on his own channel's podcast on YouTube, he elaborated on what he thinks Nintendo's vision for 2025 will be, including their next-gen console being the prime focus with a reveal and launch. Here are the full details.
Nintendo might showcase the Nintendo Switch 2 in a few days with the launch to follow in the next few months
Here's what NateTheHate claimed about the alleged upcoming reveal of Nintendo's next-gen console in the video:
"But ... I can share with you, right now, that Nintendo Switch 2 will be revealed in the coming week … You wanna know when? ... I have been told the Switch 2 will be revealed on Thursday, January 16th." (Timestamp: 17:36)
He added that he heard some details about the reveal trailer, which he considered "incomplete" because they "don't make sense" to him. But perhaps the reportedly upcoming showcase, if true, will change that. He continued:
"What I've heard is that the reveal itself will focus exclusively on the console itself. There is not going to be really any presense of games. There could be a game shown running on the screen or TV screen depending on how this trailer is put together, but software is not going to be a focus." (Timestamp: 18:30)
This is intriguing as the original Nintendo Switch trailer depicted both the hardware and games, including The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim, NBA 2K18, and more. Given that software is Nintendo's bread and butter as well as the prime attraction for their audience, a debut reveal trailer omitting games does sound odd.

NateTheHate also touched upon a potential launch window for Nintendo Switch 2:
"The timeline I was given for launch remains the same as I had communicated back in December 2024: From April to June. However, everything has been pushing me towards May or June." (Timestamp: 23:47)
With Nintendo's investor meeting in early February 2025, this is the right team to finally lift the curtains. Leaks about music stars Pharrell Williams and Sabrina Williams potentially collaborating for the trailer's music had also surfaced. That said, if NateTheHate's claims are true, we will find out about all of it very soon.
