As promised, Capcom gave fighting game fans a first look at live Street Fighter V gameplay during this weekend's Capcom Cup. The six-minute match between Street Fighter stalwarts Ryu and Chun-li, while initially very familiar-looking, offers some interesting insight into how Capcom is changing things up.
Some of the changes coming in Street Fighter 5 appear obvious; Ryu and Chun-li show off a power stance that burns EX meter and modifies certain attacks. They also have some new moves, both in the standard attack and special move department. There's also the new Revenge meter, the bar that powers returning Ultra Combos.
Capcom producer Yoshinori Ono appeared on stage during the release and said,”We've been hard at work at Street Fighter 5, and we promise this product will be the one that brings fighting games into the next era. This will be a huge step for us and our community."
The game is exclusive to PlayStation 4 and Windows PC, and features cross-platform play.
