One of the millions of FIFA 17 users has highlighted a major snag in the latest edition of the EA Sports’ game. The revelation points out that in the FIFA Ultimate Team (FUT), one can avoid a defeat by simply forfeiting the match before the kick-off.
The user who took to Twitter to let the world know about the glitch, when pitted against a far superior team than his, decided to use the forfeit match option. Usually, the user abandoning the match is declared the loser with a 3-0 scoreline. However, as pointed out in the video, a player, to avoid defeat can forfeit the match before the ball is kicked, and still not be on the losing side.

Though such a glitch has been highlighted for the first time, some users revealed that they have been using the bug in their favour for a couple of weeks now. “Been doing this for a few weeks now. Only works though from opponents kick off, so they have to pause it before the kick off is taken,” a gamer said.
Another user wrote on Reddit, “Got people telling me it works in Divs too, which means it’s a game-wide issue.”
While playing various in-game leagues in the FUT, users face teams which are way more superior than theirs. This leaves them with no option but to play the match and try to lose by the smallest margin possible. However, this glitch helps them avoid such a situation and ensure they do not end up on the losing side.
EA Sports haven’t addressed the issue as of now, but with the bug making a lot of headlines, it won’t be long before they release a patch.
