The previous take of WWE’s virtual edition, WWE 2K17 received criticism for its failure to portray their superstars’ aesthetic outlook correctly. Hence, fans from across the world are eagerly waiting for the release of the 2K18 edition and its revamped format. Sources close to the game’s developer, Solicits Opinions have confirmed to Sportskeeda, that they are looking at October 17 as the date for publication of the game. Aside from its chronological development, the game will in fact witness a ‘substantial change’ to cater to its fans suggestions.
He said, “As I’m not in a position to tell you what the changes are, we cannot really discuss that. However, they have taken a lot of suggestions via social media to improve certain aspects of the game. The game developers took a common decision since WWE 2K15 to release the game on a Tuesday in October. Hence, we have been told that it would be either on October 17 or October 24, unless there is an unnecessary delay. Usually there is an announced one month prior about the confirmation of release. Each country’s distributor is confirmed about the development.”
This is not a major surprise, as similar to EA Sports’ FIFA series, WWE 2K developers have also narrowed a specific time frame for release. In FIFA’s case, it created an annual structure which ensured no time was wasted to begin work on the next edition. EA Sports confirmed in an interview, that the time frame ensured a smooth transition for work to begin on the next edition immediately.
The game will release on Playstation 4, Xbox One and Microsoft Windows, for the first time the game will not release on the PS 3 as well. However, there is likely to be a minor change on the PC edition, with the game now demanding an 8 GB RAM for smooth and seamless running. There is no confirmation of which superstars will be included or excluded from the existent roster.
It remains to be seen whether the game will release closer to Hell in a Cell, which was held on October 30 last year.
