The professional golf event, the BMW Championship, is played after the FedEx St. Jude Championship, with the remaining top 50 golfers as per FedEx Cup standings. After this event, golfers compete at the Tour Championship for the FedEx Cup.
The champion of the BMW Championship gets 2000 FedEx points, which is four times as many as any regular PGA event. The 2024 BMW Championship will be held at the Castle Pines Golf Club in Colorado, in the United States, from August 22 to 25, though the event will commence on August 20 with the practice day.
Originally, the event was established in 2007, but is technically 125 years old; then, it was known as the "Western Open," run by the Western Golf Association (WGA). The BMW Championship is also run by the latter organization, but the formats of both are completely different since the Western Open was a regular PGA event.

BMW Championship 2024 Cut Line
There’s no traditional cut line at the BMW Championship, but rather a progressive one.
The BMW Championship is the second of three FedEx Cup playoff events; before it, the FedEx St. Jude Championship takes place, which likewise has no cut and has a field based on the top 70 FedEx Cup points.
The winner of the later championship receives 2000 FedEx Cup points, while the top 50 golfers on the FedEx Cup points list compete in the BMW Championship. Furthermore, the champion receives 2000 FedEx Cup points, and the top 30 golfers on the FedEx Cup points list compete in the Tour Championship to determine the FedEx Cup Champion of the Season.
