Orlando, FLORIDA-- On UCF's home turf, the Golden Knights and Memphis went back and forth until the end of the second overtime with an interception by UCF in the highest-scoring game in FBS conference championship history (117 points). Central Florida capped off a perfect campaign with a 12-0 season heading into the bowl season. UCF would be the Group of Five representative in the New Year's Six bowls.
UCF quarterback McKenzie Milton threw for 494 yards and 5 touchdowns in the win. Running back Otis Anderson rushed for 115 yards for UCF. Memphis wide receiver Anthony Miller led the receivers with 195 yards and 3 touchdowns.
This is UCF's first conference championship since sharing the title with Memphis and Cincinnati in 2014, before the conference started having a title game in 2015.
