It’s obvious the Bears didn’t visit the Wizard yesterday before getting to Ford Field; they didn’t use their brains, they didn’t play with any heart and the Cowardly Lion had more courage. What they should’ve asked the Wizard for was a set of monster balls.
So are the Lions the real deal this year? This is the first time in 31 years they’re 5-0, and one of the only two undefeated teams left in the league… the other, the Green Bay Packers. So let’s take a look at this awkward game yesterday shall we? If you look at the stats, the Bears had more first downs and Forte rushed for over 100-yards. There was a great run / pass balance and Cutler threw for almost 250 yards without any interceptions! So what went wrong? Normally, this box score would mean a Bears victory. I guess it can be summed up by penalties and our strained run defense.Let’s look at one more thing… the “#1?s. Calvin Johnson had five catches for 132-yards and a TD. Devin Hester, our supposed #1 had the same number of catches… but for 100 less yards and no TD’s!! That’s the difference of a true #1 and “1A-cup”.
It’s safe to say Christmas isn’t coming early for the Bears. From now until Thanksgiving, we’ve got either division rivals or teams over .500 with the exception of the “dream team” Eagles who are just as bad if not worse than the Bears. But here’s a note of hope for Jay Cutler (who actually did pretty well yesterday); now that he’s apparently back with Kristin Cavallari… he can look forward to a pleasant sacking after the game.
