The college football season opened up this weekend and there was a lot of spectacular plays across the nation. Here are my ten top picks:
10. Notre Dame, the tight end factory, gets a big play from tight end Troy Nicholas who takes this Tommy Rees pass to the end zone. 2:30 to 2:42

9. Freddy Knighton, making a ton of people miss, just misses getting into the end-zone, but man is that some third string QB. From 0:12-0:34
8. Star players make big plays in big games. Sammy Watkins did just that as he says he’s out to prove he’s the nation’s best WR and this catch and run vs. Georgia trucking over a defender and then out running the defense goes a long way in helping him prove it.
7. Jamison Crowder of Duke runs right through the Punt coverage and makes it look easy scoring against NC Central.
6. Miami came out and blew out Florida Atlantic. Herb Waters perfectly executes this reverse and takes it 63 yards for the score.
5. Jordan Taylor goes up high and Rice stays in it until the second half when the reigning Heisman winner Johnny Manziel takes the game over.
4. Christion Jones had a day with three total touchdowns against Virginia Tech. The play that lands him in the top ten is the 92 yard kick return in which he seems to be going down, but breaks two tackles and out runs the kick coverage in for the score.
3. Jeff Scott of Ole Miss scoots 75 yards for the game winning score over Vanderbilt. Look at that stunned crowd in the picture – simply a see saw battle that one amazing play decided.
2. Cut to 1:15 for the play and watch BJ Catalon run back a kick 99 yards against LSU. Something that was sure to have Les Miles eating grass.
1. Villanova pulls off the double fake punt to perfection, completely confuses Boston College, and easily grabs the top spot this week in the top 10.
