Asher Hong was born on March 23, 2004, and raised in Piano, Texas. He now lives in Tomball. Asher is a professional gymnast for the U.S. Men's Olympic Team and the Stanford Cardinals. Asher Hong attended Edgenuity Virtual Academy and graduated in 2022. In 2018, he competed in three major competitions and won several medals. Asher Hong took part in the RD761 International Junior Team Cup and won the bronze medal along with his team and the gold medal at the Pacific Rim Championships. Later, he competed at the Winter Cup, winning gold medals in the rings and parallel bars events. He is a two-time NCAA team and vault champion.
In the 2021 edition, Hong won all the gold medals in the junior categories for rings, parallel bars, floor exercise, and pommel horse. In the 2022 Winter Cup, Asher won a gold medal in vault, a silver medal in floor exercise and rings, and a bronze in the parallel bars. This performance earned him an overall bronze medal, just behind Vitaliy Guimaraes and Khoi Young.
In 2023, at the Antwerp World Championship, Asher Hong won the bronze medal with the Stanford Cardinal team. Throughout his career, Asher has won 8 medals, which include 6 gold and 2 bronze and qualified for the Paris Olympics in 2024.
