John Brody Malone, born on January 7, 2000, is a professional artistic gymnast. Hailing from Johnson City, Tennessee, Malone is a current member of the Team USA squad that won a bronze medal at the 2024 Paris Olympics. He is the son of John Malone and Tracy Malone. He grew up with his two brothers, Cooper and Tyler, and his sister, Briley, in Rockmart, Georgia, United States. He is currently engaged to his longtime girlfriend, Serena Ortiz.
Malone started his gymnastics journey in 2003 at the age of three. His professional career began in 2015 when he competed in the National Championships and earned seventh place. The following year, at the 2016 National Championships, Malone improved his standing by securing the second spot, finishing behind Vitaliy Guimaraes. In 2019, he enrolled at Stanford University as a student-athlete, majoring in management science and engineering. At Stanford University, The 24-year-old Olympian joined the Stanford Cardinal gymnastics team and played a crucial role in their victory at the 2019 NCAA National Championships. Later, as an individual competitor, he qualified for the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo, Japan. He has also won two medals at the World Artistic Gymnastics Championships and seven U.S. national titles, including three in the all-around (2021, 2022, and 2024), two on the high bar (2022 and 2024), one on the floor (2022), and one on the vault (2021).
