Day 2 of the Gold Coast Commonwealth Games 2018 shall begin for India with the opening of the women's artistic gymnastics events, where the women gymnasts, led by emerging gymnast Aruna Reddy will open India's challenge in the women's team all around, as well as individual all-around qualification events. Aruna shall be accompanied by Pranati Das and Pranati Nayak for the same. The gymnastics events shall begin at 4:30 a.m., as per the Indian Standard Time [IST].

They shall be followed by up the Indian table tennis teams, who shall aim for the knockout stages, as they play the final leg of the group stages. The teams shall be followed by K. Sanjita Chanu, gold medallist of the previous edition of the Commonwealth Games, who has recently switched to the 53 kg. category, and shall vie for a podium finish in this very event.

Later on, by 7:30 a.m. in the morning, the Indian boxer Amit Panchal, who is currently a JCO in the Indian Army, shall make his debut against the Ghana boxer Sulemanu Tetteh. He shall be followed up by the squash players, who shall be competing in their respective singles category.

The squash players shall be followed by cyclist Deborah Herold, who is competing in the women's sprint qualification rounds. She will be accompanied by Aleena Reji in the same event and shall be followed up by cyclists Manorama Devi and Sonali Chang, who are competing in the Women's 3000 m. individual pursuit, and later on by the male cycling team, comprising Ranjit Singh, Manjeet Singh, and Sanuraj P.

The cycling team shall be followed up by Deepak Lather, who will represent India at the Men's 69 kg. weightlifting event. He shall be followed by the Indian mixed team for the badminton event, who shall be competing against Scotland in the final leg of the group stage.

Next in line shall be the Indian women's hockey team, who will be competing in the second leg of their group stage against the Malaysian team. The team shall be followed up by Saraswati Raut, who will represent in weightlifting [Women's 58 kg. category].

The day shall be brought to a close by the swimmers Virdhawal Khade, Sajan Prakash and Khelo India School Games champion Srihari Nataraj, who shall be competing in the finals of the Men's 50 m. Butterfly and Men's 50 m. backstroke respectively, provided they qualify for the same.
