Stephen Nedoroscik, the double Olympic medalist, is now entertaining the audience with his performances at the 33rd season of the dance reality show, "Dancing with the Stars". The 25-year-old recently revealed how he felt when was first offered to do the show during the Paris Olympics.
In a podcast with Joe Vulpis, Nedoroscik mentioned that he was surprised at being considered for this show. He said,
"Yeah, so I got the call like while I was still at the Olympics actually, like before I was even done. Like I still had an event final [probably pommel horse finals], um, and I was juggling around, cuz I didn't have an agency, I didn't have anyone representing me, so like, I was like, you know I had like this four day span from the Team final to like my individual final, where it wasn't just me focusing on gymnastics." [3:55 onwards]
".... I had to focus on you know, like 'Oh my gosh!' Like I need to get an agent you know, I'm getting calls about these deals and stuff, and I was like it was like so much, it was like overwhelming um, but like we got it all figured out, and I was like heck yeah, we're doing this Dancing with the Stars," Nedoroscik further added.
Stephen Nedoroscik has cleared the preliminary rounds and is one of the most popular contestants on 'Dancing with the Stars' as of now. He credited his success on the show to his dancing partner Rylee Arnold.
Stephen Nedoroscik on having no experience in dancing
Stephen Nedoroscik grabbed the audience as well as the judges' attention with his iconic paso doble on the 'Superman' theme song. In a recent interview on the 'Live Kelly and Mark' show, when asked about what was more nerve-wracking between the Olympics and dancing, the American gymnast mentioned,
".....Amazingly, they are quite similar. It is obviously more nerve wracking when you have people relying on you to get a team medal, but like you know, I don't know how good I am at dance, I don't know how people are going to perceive it, so there is that nervous factor, and it's like 'Oh man, this is all new to me, I might mess it up.' "
In the podcast with Joe Vulpis, Nedoroscik also credited Rylee Arnold for helping him, overcome his apprehensions with dancing and bringing out the best within him. He stated:
".... I'm so lucky cause I got Rylee paired at me, and we have like very similar energy, so like immediately I was a little embarassed, cause I wan't picking up on the steps very fast, but like she saw how motivated I was, and like I was like if I'm doing this, I'm going all out...So like that's what I've been doing and I've been getting compliments from all around, and that alone just chips away those insecurities."
Stephen Nedoroscik has made the USA proud at the Paris Olympics. Apart from contributing to a historic team all-around bronze medal, the 25-year-old gymnast also brought home an individual bronze medal from the pommel horse event.
