The Chinese Olympic team performed a dramatic human jump rope as they managed to wow and horrify the crowd at the same time in Rio earlier in the year. At the Olympics gymnastics gala, one member of the Chinese team was specifically used as a human jump rope.
The Olympics, being the biggest sporting event in the world, showcases some of the most incredible performances by the athletes that leave us bewildered. At other times, though we witness the same athletes performing weird never-seen-before antics that certainly amuses the crowd.
The gymnastics gala event featured competitors performing light-hearted routines to celebrate the Games. The group of gymnasts had the crowd in splits of laughter when they performed the routine.
In the video, one of the gymnasts is held by his arms and legs and swung by two others. One other gymnast jumps over him like jumping over a skipping rope. This is repeated three times as the fourth man completes three jumps over the human jumping rope.

The Chinese gymnastic team had a disappointing result in the 2016 Rio Olympics where they won only two bronze medals. They failed to secure a single gold medal but they definitely won a lot of hearts at the gala event.
Gymnasts have to flexible, spry and agile but no human's body is meant to be used as a human jump rope. It is unbelievable that someone might actually pull this off.
This hilarious performance made the crowd squeal in delight as they fell into fits of laughter. Even the commentators started laughing after the comical performance. There were a few gasps of amusement and fear as well among the crowd.

British athletes like Max Whitlock and Nile Wilson outclassed the Chinese team with their performances this year. The women's team from the United States also had a commendable performance with Simone Biles winning four gold medals and one bronze medal.
