James Brown really meant it when he sang, “Get up offa that thing and dance ’till you feel better!” People who performed a dance move atleast once in the last year have 62 percentage more chance of reporting superior health than those who did not dance, according to a new Scottish research.
Apart from the obvious physical benefits you get from breaking a sweat on the floor, dancing can also help increase your memory power, avoid dementia and cut down depression.
It is not necessary that you have to be good with your dance moves as the research indicates that just being a part of cultural events like dancing can help in decreasing the levels of cortisol, a stress hormone and improve social capital.
