Susan Lucci's health is recovering after her second heart surgery in four years. The symptoms Lucci, 75, described in an interview were ones she was familiar with. She had the same breathing difficulties and back and ribcage agony she did three years prior, in October 2018, when she underwent her first heart surgery.

The 80% clogged coronary artery was treated with a stent in 2019; however, the 76-year-old actress needed another cardiac treatment in January 2022 and is currently "keeping an eye on herself" as she recovers.

What Happened to Susan Lucci's Health?

She disclosed in 2020 that she suffered a heart attack that came dangerously close to becoming fatal in 2018 when she learned she had two clogged coronary arteries after experiencing chest pain. She spoke about how she initially disregarded her symptoms. Lucci thought that her symptoms would go away. In an interview, she said:

"Oh, it'll go away, it'll go away. Then, the third time it came to me, I couldn't ignore it. I had a very big pressure on my chest, like an elephant person pressing on my chest."

Lucci needed urgent surgery because the major artery was 90% blocked. She eventually learned that she had a cardiac genetic issue inherited from her father. There were then two stents implanted.

During the epidemic, Susan Lucci acknowledged overindulging in "comfort food." She said it all came to her in January 2022 as she felt her chest symptoms return and learned she had an 80% blockage that needed emergency attention.

Lucci remarked on her recent recovery after receiving a stent for her artery. It's going well so far, according to Lucci. She claimed,

"I would hear that heart disease is the number one killer of women, but that went in one ear and out the other, but now I get it."
