Chandigarh in junior zonal hockey final

Sonepat - Chandigarh defeated hosts Haryana 2-1 to enter the final of the third Hockey India Sub-Junior Men’s National Championship (North Zone) here Sunday.

In the semifinal, Chandigarh took the lead in the ninth minute with the field goal scored by Milanpreet Singh but Haryana levelled in the 31st minute. Milanpreet Singh scored the second goal for Chandigarh (34th minute) which helped his team win.

Semifinal result: Chandigarh 2 (Milanpreet Singh 9, 34) beat Haryana 1 (Viney 31).
