FIH Hockey Olympics Qualifiers will be the last stage of qualification for Field Hockey for the 2020 Olympics.
It Commences from 26th October and will continue till 3rd November. India's Qualifiers will begin on 1st November 2019 and will end on 3rd November.
Each team will be required to play two matches against the opponent team on the same ground. The winners of these qualifiers will be qualifies for 2020 Olympics which will be staged in Tokyo, Japan from 25th July 2020 to 7th August 2020.
Format
The first leg of the tournament will begin on 25th October 2019 while the second leg will start of from 26th October 2019. Japan being the past winner of 2018 Asian Games got direct qualification for 2020 Olympics as they will be the host as well for the event in the coming year.
Their quota was added in the qualifiers instead of giving it to the runner up team. The Continental Champions from five confederations received an automatic berth as well. The winners of the Olympic Qualifiers along with the five countries which won the continental champions will be competing in 2020 Olympics.
