#1 Mink Van Der Weeden
Until the quarterfinals, Netherlands had a looming 'Achilles' Heel' in terms of penalty corners. They had earned some 21 penalty corners till the quarterfinals, of which they managed to convert barely four in total.
As they met India, everyone anticipated the latter to exploit this very weakness to their advantage.
It almost worked for Team India as well. Netherlands had earned four penalty corners in the first three quarters, none of which managed to find the mouth of the Indian goal.
Thanks to a brilliant defence, led by goalkeeper P R Sreejesh, India managed to keep Netherlands at bay. However, one man had other plans.
Refusing to cow down to the Indian challenge, Mink van der Weeden, one of the Dutch stalwarts in terms of earning penalty corners, continued mounting attacks on the Indian side, and found success in the 50th minute, when Netherlands earned their fifth penalty corner.
This time, luck was on the Dutch side as Van der Weeden scored the goal with elan, giving Netherlands a third ticket to the semifinals in a row.
