The Indian Men’s Junior Hockey team progressed through to the final of the Junior Men’s Asia Cup after beating Japan 6-1 in the semifinal at Ipoh, Malaysia on Saturday.
Harmanpreet Singh, who has prolific all through the competition was again the star for the Indians, netting a brace while Mandeep, Manpreet Singh, Vikramjit Singh and Varun Kumar scored the rest of the goals. It was Shota Yamoda who scored the only goal for Japan.

This is India’s second win over Japan in this tournament, having beaten them in the opening contest last Saturday 2-1.
The Indians have put in commanding performances in every game of this competition, except for the one against hosts Malaysia when the match went into the penalties where the juniors eventually clinched the tie 5-4.
India will play arch-rivals Pakistan in the final on Sunday.
