Mumbai, Feb 8 (IANS): The Mumbai Magicians will host defending champions Ranchi Rhinos in the Hockey India League (HIL) clash at the Mahindra Hockey Stadium here on Sunday.
Third in the points table, the Rhinos will want to go up by playing a good game of hockey against the Magicians, who cannot be taken lightly and are still strong contenders for the semifinals.
“The last few matches, the team hasn’t played to its full potential but tomorrow we will work hard on (our) skills and which will reflect in our game. We are looking forward to the Mumbai Magicians and we hope to showcase a better show against them this time,” Rhinos head coach Gregg Clark said.
The Rhinos’ home match against debutants Kalinga Lancers Friday made them realise that they should not take a win for granted as they only managed to scrape past the Bhubaneswar-based team, and they will want to go on the attack from the first minute Friday.
“It is a must win match for us. The team is growing in confidence and I am sure they will play to ensure they remain in contention for the semifinals,” Magicians head coach M.K. Kaushik said.
