Less than 24 hours after edging Soorma Hockey Club in a shootout, Hyderabad Toofans will play their sixth game of the Hockey India League against a resurgent Kalinga Lancers side on Sunday (January 12).
The Toofans and the Lancers had a rocky start to their campaign before clawing their way back but will be keen to rise from the bottom half of the points table where they are currently positioned.
The Lancers, though, go into Sunday's game on the back of two outright wins and will be keen to keep the momentum going.

Gonzalo Peillat who was expected to play a key role for the Toofans has managed to score only once in the tournament thus far with uncapped players like Amandeep Lakra coming to the fore.
While Arshdeep Singh and Shilanand Lakra have been creative up-front, the Toofans will need Tim Brand to spearhead the attack.
A contest between Alexander Hendrickx and Gonzalo Peillat is on the cards even as the two great drag-flickers have yet to strike peak form in the Hockey India League.

Nicholas Bandurak is coming into his own as the tournament progresses with the Lancers looking increasingly formidable in the attacking third. Thierry Brinkman has already made his presence felt in earlier games and will continue to be a threat in the attacking circle.
Breaching a defensive line-up comprising Antoine Kina and Arthur van Doren will need the Toofans to produce something special hopefully inspired by the ever-industrious Zachary Wallace in midfield. Gonzalo Peillat, though, can alter the script if only he gets going from the top of the circle.
