The Hyderabad Toofans are set to enter the upcoming season of the Hockey India League (HIL) under the leadership of their new head coach, Pasha Gademan. Known for his tactical brilliance and innovative approach, Gademan’s appointment comes as a significant move ahead of the season.

His coaching journey, filled with remarkable achievements, positions him as a key figure to guide the Hyderabad Toofans to success in the upcoming HIL season.

In a relatively short period, Pasha Gademan has established himself as one of Europe’s most promising and tactically astute coaches. He was an integral part of Germany’s national team setup as an assistant coach and is a world champion with them.

Additionally, Gademan was part of the German coaching staff that narrowly missed an Olympic gold in Paris. His experience also extends to stints with renowned European club Rot-Weiss Köln and the Canadian men’s national team, whom he prepared for the Tokyo Olympics.

On Sunday (October 6), Hyderabad Toofans made the announcement via a post on their Instagram account.

Hyderabad Toofans ready for HIL 2024 as league returns after seven years

Hyderabad Toofans, one of the eight franchises in the revamped Hockey India League, are owned by Resolute Sports. The franchise is stepping into the HIL for the first time.

Resolute Sports has already made its presence felt in the Prime Volleyball League, where they finished as runners-up in the previous season with Delhi Toofans. Their entry into HIL not only demonstrates their commitment to expanding the sporting ecosystem in Hyderabad but also reflects their determination to succeed in multiple sports.

The appointment of Gademan as head coach is a strong statement by Hyderabad Toofans, reflecting their ambition to make an impact in their debut season. With such a varied and successful coaching background, Gademan’s arrival at the Hyderabad franchise brings high expectations.

The much-anticipated Hockey India League, after a seven-year hiatus, is set to take place from December 28, 2024, to February 5, 2025. The league, which has played a pivotal role in boosting the Indian men’s hockey team, is expected to once again feature world-class players and coaches.

For the first time, the HIL will also introduce a parallel women’s league, a significant move toward promoting gender equality in Indian hockey.

Hockey India has ensured consistent scheduling for the tournament over the next five years, ensuring the participation of international talents.
