The Women's Asian Champions Trophy returns for its eighth edition in 2024 from Monday, November 11. Six teams are taking part in the competition which will have a total of 20 matches and all games will be held at the Rajgir Hockey Stadium in Bihar, India.
The six nations participating in the Women's Asian Champions Trophy 2024 are hosts India, China, South Korea, Japan, Malaysia, and Thailand. The teams will play each other in a single round-robin format. The top two teams will progress to the semi-finals.
On the opening day, Japan took on South Korea in the first match of the Women's Asian Champions Trophy 2024. China vs Thailand and India vs Malaysia are the other two matches on the opening day.
Three matches will be played on each day of the tournament, beginning at 12:15 PM IST, 2:30 PM IST, and 4:45 PM IST. Matches will take place on November 11, 12, 14, 16, 17. On Tuesday, November 19, the fifth/sixth place classification match, along with the two semi-finals will place. The final of the Women's Asian Champions Trophy 2024 will be played on Wednesday, November 20, while a bronze-medal match will also be played on the same day.
Hosts India will be led by Salima Tete. Fan Yunxia will lead China while Japan will be captained by Tanaka Saki. The Korean team will be captained by Cheon Eunbi while Din Juliani is the skipper of Malaysia. Lastly, Thailand will be led by Piresram Anongnat.
India are the defending champions while South Korea, with three titles, are the most successful team in the history of the tournament.
