The JSW Soorma Hockey Club are placed second in the Women's Hockey India League points table following a 4-1 victory over the Shrachi Rarh Bengal Tigers in the second match of the tournament. The match took place on Monday, January 13, at the Marang Gomke Jaipal Singh Hockey Stadium in Ranchi.
They have three points and a goal difference of three after scoring four goals and conceding one. Meanwhile, the Bengal Tigers are placed third with zero points and a goal difference of -3, courtesy of having scored one goal and conceding four in their season opener.
New Zealand's Hannah Cotter opened the scoring for the Shrachi Rarh Bengal Tigers in the seventh minute with a field goal. With no more goals scored in the first half, the Bengal Tigers entered the half-time break with a one-goal lead against the Soorma Hockey Club.
