Star Sports shoots ad-campaign for Hockey India League with Delhi Waveriders

Star Sports, the official broadcaster of Hero Hockey India League, on Thursday shot an ad-campaign featuring Delhi Wave Riders’ stars Sardar Singh and Rupinder Pal Singh playing at Jantar Mantar.

Star Sports plans to build team affinity and local pride by shooting the marketing campaign across all six cities represented in the HIL with star players showcasing their skills with the most iconic location of the city/region.

The other plans include shooting of Dabur Mumbai Magicians team playing in a Mumbai local train; Ranchi Rhinos at Dassam Falls, Jharkhand, Kalinga Lancers’ at a beach in Odisha, Uttar Pradesh Wizards’ in the lanes of Varanasi and Jaypee Punjab Riders in Amritsar with the Golden Temple as the back drop.

Juju Basu, Head of Communication for Sports Business, Star India speaking on the occasion said:

“The core idea behind the campaign is to get India’s hockey playing regions to celebrate the game that’s been a part of their culture for decades.

“The campaign is therefore based out of the regions that the teams are from, using iconic backdrops and elements from their hockey heritage.”

HIL, which starts from January 25 and will see world’s best hockey players playing in diverse cities across the country for the coveted HIL title. The title is currently held by Ranchi Rhinos.
