The Sultan Azlan Shah Cup 2016 will be played between seven nations India, Australia, Malaysia, Canada, Japan, New Zealand and Pakistan.
The tournament will serve as a practice session for teams like Australia, Canada, New Zealand and India, who have already qualified for the 2016 Rio Olympics. These teams will like to experiment with the combinations and new players to pick the best squad ahead of the Olympics.
India have always been one of the best performers in the tournament in the past with five titles to its name. But this time, they have fought hard with the likes of Australia and New Zealand, who are currently the ranked higher than India.
The Indian team management would like to use the young players who have performed well at the junior level and now ready to show their caliber on the senior stage. Young players like Harjeet Singh, Harjot Singh, Harmanpreet Singh are looking to shine in the Indian senior colours.
The Indian team looks very youth oriented with lots of youngsters in it as they eye for their sixth title in Sultan Azlan Shah Cup 2016.
