Lucy Alexander sustained a broken collarbone in a fall in the opening race at Ayr.
The jump jockey took a tumble from Craiganboy, trained by her father Nick, at the third-last flight in the racinguk.com/freetrial Maiden Hurdle. Racing was delayed for 25 minutes while she was taken by ambulance to Ayr's University Hospital.
"She was a bit bashed up but all she's got is a broken collarbone," said Alexander senior. "She's going home tonight, but she will be devastated to have broken a collarbone just as the season is getting going.
"It could have been a lot worse. She wasn't concussed. She was just a bit dazed after the fall," he added.
