#3 10.10.10, Jeff Hardy turns heel and Immortal is formed (Bound For Glory 2010)
Heading into Bound For Glory 2010, there were many teases for a mysterious 10/10/10 reveal with that being the date of the show. The start of this came with Hulk Hogan and Eric Bischoff coming in as business partners for TNA President Dixie Carter at the end of 2009. Abyss had snapped a few months back and started teasing this mystery group by attacking the TNA World Heavyweight Champion Rob Van Dam. Due to his attack, RVD relinquished the title vacating it ahead of the big show.
Sting also teased this reveal by saying he knew who "They" were and seemingly turning heel with attacks on Hulk Hogan and Abyss. He also teased suspicion of Hogan and Bischoff. This all built to a tournament to determine the new TNA World Heavyweight Champion with the finals at Bound For Glory.
In the semifinals, Mr. Anderson defeated D'Angelo Dinero, while Jeff Hardy and Kurt Angle went to a no contest. Bischoff and Hogan decided to make the Bound For Glory main event a three-way including Hardy, Angle, and Anderson to determine the new champion. This match seemed like anyone could win until we got to the convoluted finish.
In the end with all three men and the referee down, Bischoff and Hogan came down with Hulk having crutches from a back injury. Jeff Hardy took the crutch from Hogan and used it on both Angle and Anderson. Hardy used Twist of Fate on Anderson and pinned him to win the TNA World Heavyweight Championship at Bound For Glory 2010.
After the match, Hardy hugged Hogan and Bischoff, followed by Jeff Jarrett and Abyss coming down to join them. "They" was revealed as these five men coming together to form Immortal at Bound For Glory. Although this stable has been looked back on as polarizing at best, there is no question that this was a memorable moment in IMPACT Wrestling history. It also led to our next moment as well.
