#2. Redemption for Chris Bey at Slammiversary
The buildup to the Slammiversary's Ultimate X match has featured Chris Bey and his allegiances quite extensively. The Ultimate Finesser had to make a choice heading into the Ultimate X match, choosing to align with the babyfaces, Trey Miguel and Petey Williams on an episode of IMPACT Wrestling.
Chris Bey is a former X-Division Champion but his reign lasted just 31 days. Considering how heavily he's been involved in the lead up to the match, he goes in as one of the favorites. The short title reign must play in his mind as well, becoming another motivating factor for him to grab the belt. It would also be poetic for Chris Bey as he won the title at last year's Slammiversary. Should he win this time, he would be hoping for a far lengthier reign.
#1. The reign of Josh Alexander continues post-Slammiversary
Since winning the X-Division Championship at Rebellion, Josh Alexander has been a stellar champion. His 60-minute iron man match against TJP elevated the title exponentially.
The nature of the Ultimate X match probably goes against Josh Alexander's style as he's a hard hitting mat wrestler and he'll be up against some of the best high-flyers in the company who can also turn physical when needed. However, if the champion's reign has prove anything, he never backs down and finds a way to victory. It's likely he ends up being the glue that holds the match together, the centerpiece around whom the others perform their moves.
Alexander is slowly becoming the unanimous face of the X-Division. He has expressed his desire to elevate the prestige of the IMPACT Wrestling X Division Championship to the top of the company, even beyond the IMPACT Wrestling World Championship. Considering his lofty goals and expectations, it's unlikely Alexander will lose his title at Slammiversary.
