Matt Cardona and Josh Alexander took on Ace Austin and Madman Fulton in a tag team match on this week's IMPACT Wrestling. Cardona, formerly known as Zack Ryder in WWE, made his debut in IMPACT during the Hard to Kill PPV. The match here was a pretty good back-and-forth bout between the two teams, with Cardona putting up a great showing. He looked much more motivated in the ring than he did during his final days in WWE.
After a chaotic few final minutes where Fulton dominated the proceedings, Cardona scored the pinfall over him after delivering a Radio Silence. Considering how great a tag team wrestler Alexander is, it didn't come as a surprise that he gelled so with his new partner. While these two can go ahead and contend for the IMPACT Tag Team Championships, these two are accomplished singles wrestlers and can easily find themselves in the world title picture.
Post-match, Cardona was confronted by Brian Myers, who said he was surprised to see him tag along with someone else rather than him. It was a fun call-back to their WWE days and can probably come into play going forward in their IMPACT Wrestling careers.
