The IMPACT Wrestling Knockouts Champion was told two weeks ago that her opponent for Slammiversary would be a mystery. Fans racked their minds for so long, wondering who it would be that would challenge The Virtuosa of IMPACT Wrestling.
It turned out to be none other than former NWA World Champion Thunder Rosa!
Arguably two of the greatest in the business right now, Deonna Purrazzo and Thunder Rosa, were evenly matched. After going back and forth, Rosa caught Purrazzo with a victory roll for a two-count. A dropkick in the ropes earned her another near fall.
Purrazzo responded with an elevated Divorce Court, severely damaging the shoulder. Purrazzo locked Rosa up with an octopus stretch, only to be picked up and driven into the turnbuckle.
Rosa followed with a slingshot double knee strike in the corner and a running basement dropkick. Purrazzo was in dire straits, and Rosa continued to pile on the pressure with a single underhook suplex. Purrazzo managed to catch Rosa, though, with the Fujiwara Armbar.
Rosa was able to block the Venus Demilo and transitioned into a rear-naked choke. Purrazzo broke away and rocked Rosa with a palm strike as she ascended the turnbuckle. Purrazzo tried to follow her up but was sent crashing to the mat.
A double stomp to the lower back earned Rosa a close call on the IMPACT Wrestling Knockouts Champion. It was only enough for a two-count. Back to their feet, Purrazzo rocked Rosa with a pump kick and escaped the Thunder Driver with a victory roll.
A boot to the face laid out Rosa, and Purrazzo hit the Queen's Gambit. with that, Deonna Purrazzo defeated one of the greatest wrestlers on the planet.
Results: Deonna Purrazzo defeated Thunder Rosa via pinfall on IMPACT Wrestling.

Deonna Purrazzo grabbed a microphone, but the IMPACT Wrestling Knockouts Champion didn't even have a chance to speak. Multi-time IMPACT Wrestling Knockouts Champion Mickie James appeared to loud applause.
Purrazzo was furious that Mickie James ruined her moment. This was Purrazzo's Knockouts Division. James apologized and said she understood how great she was, highlighting all of her accolades.
Mickie James offered a personal invitation to the IMPACT Wrestling Knockouts Champion, hoping to get her on NWA EmPowerrr. Purrazzo told her off, still mad that she lost her moment. She told James to take her trash bag and get out and would ultimately eat a Chick Kick from James in the process.
