No Disqualification Match for the IMPACT Wrestling World Championship: Sami Callihan vs Kenny Omega (c)
Before Don Callis could finish his introduction for the IMPACT Wrestling World Champion, Sami Callihan blindsided Kenny Omega. He spiked Omega with the Cactus Driver for a near fall. While Omega struggled to get to his feet, Callihan threw some weapons into the ring.
Callihan brought in a chair and sat down, holding onto Omega's hair. He pulled a fork out to skewer Omega, but the champ fought out of the grasp of Callihan in the nick of time. Callian blocked a sunset flip and pulled out a pizza cutter. With nowhere to go, Omega was sliced with the cutter. The Draw of IMPACT Wrestling had drawn first blood.
He wasn't done, as he took Omega to the ropes and sawed into the head of the Best Bout Machine. Omega was drenched in red. Callihan bowed to the crowd, but the IMPACT Wrestling World Champion took advantage of Callihan's own distraction with a series of right hands.
Omega was caught with a death valley driver and immediately rolled to the floor. Omega finally got in on the hardcore action, battering Callihan with a series of baking pans and wet floor signs. The Finlay Roll planted Callihan and Omega followed with a second rope moonsault with a trash can to the ankle.
The former IMPACT Wrestling World Champion kicked out at one. Omega set up a chair in the corner and sent Callihan into it after breaking away from an O'Connor Roll. He finally got a chance to bleed Callihan as he dragged a fork across Callihan's forehead.
He took it one step further, driving the fork into Callihan's mouth and tearing at the lips. The action spilled to the floor as the IMPACT Wrestling World Champion launched Callihan into the steel barricade and the apron. A table was placed on top of Callihan, and Omega hit a double stomp into the hardwood.
With the table now set up, Omega moved for the snapdragon suplex off the apron. Callihan bit the hands of Omega, and the two traded shots on the apron. A poke to the eyes set up for the piledriver, but Callihan countered with a groin lock.
A piledriver through the table left Omega in a lot of trouble. With Omega back in the ring, IMPACT Wrestling's Innovator of Violence brought in a piece of plywood and another trash can. Omega was driven into the trash can with a backbreaker, and Callihan followed up with a powerbomb through the wood for another two-count.
Hiding under the steel steps was a chair wrapped in barbed wire. Omega escaped a Razor's Edge and blasted Callihan with the V-Trigger. A leaping Fameasser into the chair, as well as a powerbomb, set up for another V-Trigger. Callihan just barely got to the ropes to break it up.
Omega set up a pile of metal in the middle of the ring, looking to put an end to IMPACT Wrestling's last hope. The superplex drove Callihan into the pile. Again, Callihan kicked out.
Another V-Trigger set up for the One-Winged Angel. Callian escaped and hit Omega low for a piledriver attempt. Omega escaped but found himself spiked on the barbed wire chair with a tombstone piledriver. Somehow, someway, Omega found the wherewithal to kick out.
Omega went to the floor for another weapon, and when Sami Callihan went toward him, he was blinded with salt. Callihan thought IMPACT Wrestling official Brian Hebner was Kenny Omega and spiked him with the piledriver.
Omega took advantage and rocked the challenger with the title belt. A piledriver would've done it, but the ref was out. A new referee came down for the two-count, and Omega laid him out for failing to give him the win.
The Good Brothers appeared on the ramp, but the IMPACT Wrestling Tag Champions were taken back by Chris Sabin and Eddie Edwards. Back in the ring, Callihan spiked Omega with a package piledriver. Hebner was too hurt to make a regular count, allowing Omega to kick out.
What was left? Thumbtacks, of course! Callihan poured them over the mat and went for the piledriver. Callis came in to distract Callihan and did just that, allowing Omega to send thumbtacks into Callihan's face for the V-Trigger.
Callihan loaded up his knee with thumbtacks for the V-Trigger, leaving Callihan out cold. Callihan kicked out again! Omega dumped the tacks into Callihan's mouth for another V-Trigger, and the One-Winged Angel finished the job.
Results: Kenny Omega defeated Sami Callihan via pinfall at IMPACT Wrestling Slammiversary.
Grade: A+
Karl Anderson and Doc Gallows joined Don Callis and Kenny Omega in the ring to celebrate with the IMPACT Wrestling World Champion. The lights went out, and when they came back up, we saw the Bullet Club's music hit. It wasn't just the Bullet Club, but Switchblade Jay White's music.
Omega, Callis, and the Good Brothers threw up the Too Sweet. Before White could do anything, someone ran down to the ring and the feed from IMPACT Wrestling cut out.
