Kolkata's United SC fought hard but went down fighting 2-3 to LoneStar Kashmir FC in a 2nd Division League - Round 9 encounter at the Golaghat Stadium in Golaghat, Assam on Friday evening. In a game of equal exchanges, Kallol Das (30th minute) put United SC in the lead before going into the half-time break. But Ajay Singh scored a second half hat-trick (65th, 66th, 74th) to turn things around for Kashmir FC before Jagannath Sana in the 90th minute pulled one back for United SC.
The match ended 3-2 in favour of Kashmir FC. Having dropped three points, United SC stayed in sixth position with 10 points from nine matches while LoneStar Kashmir FC moved up to 19 points from nine matches and stay second in the table.
The next match for United SC will be against Kenkre FC on Monday, April 27 at the Golaghat Stadium at 2pm.
