The All India Football Federation on Friday, December 20 will hold its Annual General Meeting besides a Special General Meeting to officially adopt the Indian Sports Code in its own constitution.
As per the Sports Code set by the Government of India the age and tenure of presidents are set and those rules were followed in the AIFF elections in December 2012.
The AIFF has to amend its constitution tomorrow as the Sports Ministry has set December 31, 2013 as a deadline for the National Sports Federations to bring the age and tenure rule in line with the Code.

“We have been following the age and tenure rule of the Sports Code. But now we have to do it by putting it down in the constitution itself. We are doing that in the SGM Friday,” a top AIFF official told news agency PTI.
