Former Manchester United player Bojan Djordjic to feature in the ISL

Bojan Djordjic made two appearances for the Man United first team

Former Manchester United player Bojan Djordjic will be part of the Indian Super League’s international players draft, Sportskeeda can reveal.

A pool of 49 foreign players will be made available by IMG-Reliance to the eight franchises later this month and Djordjic will be one of them.

Each franchise needs a minimum of seven international players and one marquee foreigner besides having 14 Indians in their squad. Every franchise was also allowed to sign two of those seven outside the IMG-R pool with North East United FC, Delhi Dynamos, FC Pune City having done the same and Atletico de Kolkata roping in one player.

But now the deadline for signing two foreigners outside the IMG-R pool is over so the franchises will have to make their remaining selections from the list of 49.

Djordjic is a Serbian-born Swedish footballer, who joined Manchester United in 1999 as a youth player at the age of 17.

The winger-cum-attacking midfielder showed great promise in the early days of his United career, winning the Jimmy Murphy Player of the Year award but only made two appearances for their senior team.

He was contracted to Man United until 2004 but spent of his time having loan spells both in England and other parts of Europe. Later in his career, Djordjic had stints in Scotland, Hungary, Belgium and Sweden and has won four league titles in four different countries.

The 32-year-old represented Sweden at U-18 and U-21 levels and last played for Swedish third tier outfit Vasalunds IF.
