Nepal’s Manang Marshyandgi Club (MMC) defeated Royal Wahingdoh FC (Shillong) 2 – 1 to enter the semifinal of the prestigious 34th All India Governor’s Gold cup held at Sikkim, India.
After the goalless first half, Royal Wahingdoh FC defender scored own goal to give 1 – 0 lead to MMC in the 59th minute of the match. But after the poor defensive play by MMC, Royal Wahingdoh FC scored in the 63rd minute to level the score. And it was 1 – 1 in the full time forcing the match to the extra time. Sujal Shrestha scored the wining goal for MMC in the 107th minute of the match to drag MMC in the semifinal of the championship.
MMC will take on the winner of Nepal U16 team and MD Sporting Club). Next quarterfinal match will be between Three Star Club (Nepal) and United Sikkim FC.
