The first Heritage School Football Tournament under the aegis of the Haryana Football Association, kicked-off yesterday on National Sports Day.
The first such tournament is being held from August 29 – 31 at The Heritage School in Gurgaon, which will see participation from nine schools from Delhi and Gurgaon.
Inaugurated by Sunil Bhardwaj (Haryana FA General Secretary, AIFF executive committee member), Rohit Parashar (formerly Chief Coach NIS), Rajesh Jain (Director – Conscient Group, FICCI Sports Committee member) and Kaye Jacob (Principal The Heritage School, Gurgaon), the tournament began amidst great excitement.
The football tournament is also in support of FICCI’s National Sports Day initiative, where institutions across the country are hosting events to increase awareness of the National Sports Day and encourage kids and adults to indulge in sporting activities.This is the first time that such a unique partnership between a school of THS repute, the state football association and the premier industry body FICCI, has given football enthusiasts of Gurgaon district an opportunity to participate in a recognized football tournament.
The participating schools in the tournament are Tagore International, The Heritage School – Vasant Kunj, The Heritage School – Rohini, The Air Force School, The DAV School – Sector 14, Pathways School, The Heritage School – Gurgaon and Shikshiyan.
