#3 Boithang Haokip
Another famous product of Shillong Lajong youth academy, Boithang Haokip made his senior professional debut way back in 2009-10 I-League. But regular chances were few, so he concentrated on the youth team and delivered some credible performances.
It was not until 2012-13 that he established himself as the regular team player. He played for 22 matches, scoring four times in the process. He was voted “Fan’s Player of the Year” awards at FPAI Indian Football Awards in the same year.
Haokip was loaned to NorthEast United for the 2014-16 seasons. After spending a brief period for Mumbai City, Haokip was signed by Bengaluru FC. Since then, he has become sort of an impact substitute for the team.
Known as “David Beckham of North-East for his excellent free-kick taking skills, Haokip has made seven appearances for Bengaluru this season and scored a goal this season.
