India Football Tour recently wrapped up its Hyderabad leg. The tournament was held at Astro Park, Astro Park, Jubilee Hills. 16 top-class teams from Hyderabad and around fought it out for the chance to compete to represent India at the 2017 five-a-side World Cup in Bangkok. Flamingo FC travelled all the way from Guwahati to take part. The Hyderabad leg saw participation from corporates to clubs and college students, and each brought their best to the table, showcasing some great styles of play, and raising the bar for football in Hyderabad.
After the hard-fought group stages, Flamingo FC, Pro Heart Fusion, Kings of Dusk and Allegiance FC made it to the semis. The semifinal between Flamingo FC and Pro Heart Fusion was a treat to watch, with both teams showing exquisite technique and tactics. Meanwhile, Kings of Dusk and Allegiance FC played out another delightful game, with each team trying its best to outplay, outwit and outscore the other.
Pro Heart Fusion and Allegiance FC emerged victorious in the semis. Both teams gave their all in the last match, making it a match worthy of a tournament final. Pro Heart Fusion eventually won the day and took home the gold and glory.
Players were treated to delicious food by Faasos, and Redbull provided the drinks that kept them going in the Hyderabad heat. There were also fun-filled activities like Faasos' Crossbar Challenge. For the first time on the India Football Tour we had two Playcer “Player of the Tournament” winners. All in all, it was a great footballing experience for players, spectators and everyone involved.
India Football Tour next heads off to Pune on 25th June, which is going to happen at Hotfut, Mundhwa Road. The regional city winners will fight it out to earn the tag of Indian champions at the tour finals which is scheduled to be held in Goa.
The finals will be streamed live across the world. The ultimate winner gets a cash prize of three lakhs and will qualify for the Indian qualifiers of the F5WC, the world’s largest 5-a-side tournament which is going to take place at the Birds nest stadium in Beijing, China.
