31st May 2014, Pune- With less than three years to go for the FIFA U-17 World Cup to be held in India, Kolkata based Sports Business Conglomerate Inspire Football Management started off the Pune chapter of the chain of Football academies under the name of Inspiration Football Academy, in a bid to contribute towards the supply of talented football players in the country.
All India Football Federation’s Vice President Mr. Subrata Dutta, General Secretary Mr. Kushal Das and Director – National Teams of AIFF Mr. Subhankar Mukherjee were present on the auspicious occasion for the launch of this academy along with Inspire Football Management directors Timir Debnath, Partha Acharya, Ankan Chattopadhyay and AKM Saifullah.
Inspiration Football Academy has plans to provide year long football coaching curriculum for kids mainly between the age group of 6-12 years at Indian cities of Pune, Chennai, Bangalore, Kolkata and New Delhi.
This planned approach towards Grassroot and Youth Development aims at encouraging young kids all across the nation to take up the sport of football more seriously and encouraging them to be in the mainstream leagues on India.
Mr. Subrata Dutta, Vice President, All India Football Federation commented, “Grassroot and Youth Development remains the most priority subjects for the AIFF, it is great to see that private promoters are taking active interest in this aspect. It is also a welcome sign that stake holders in our country has finally realized that it is more fruitful to water the roots of a tree than the leaves.”
Echoing similar views Mr. Kushal Das, General Secretary of the All India Football Federation said, “AIFF has taken active steps to implement the Lakshya Masterplan developed by Technical Director Mr.Rob Baan, every private academy will now be encouraged to follow AIFF guidelines and take up the accreditation process.”
More than 60 kids out of which many of the kids from the slum areas of Pune were present at the Pune District Football Association ground at Ghorpuri where the AIFF officials kicked off the academy in a ceremonious manner.
Director of National Team, AIFF, Mr. Subhankar Mukherjee, interacted with the kids at the ground and urged them to love the game and enjoy the game and hoped that one day one of these kids will go on to don the Indian team colours.
Inspiration Football Academy has appointed AFC B License holder Mr. Daniel Agashwe of DPR Congo as the interim Head Coach of the Academy. Training sessions will be held every Friday, Saturday and Sunday at the PDFA Football Ground at Ghorpuri in Pune.
On this day Mr. Ranjan Chowdhury (Technical Director of Pune FC) and Mr.Premankur Barua (Manager, Bengaluru FC) were felicitated for their contribution towards Indian Football
Next up Inspiration Football Academy wants to start similar chain of Football Academies in the cities of Kolkata, Chennai, Bangalore and New Delhi.
