After breaking all the goalscoring records in the recently-concluded Indian Super League (ISL), top striker Ferran Corominas has signed a new deal with semifinallists FC Goa, that would see him extend his stay at the club by another year.
In case you didn't know...
Corominas had set the ISL on fire this season, with his brilliant displays in front of goal. the Spaniard, who was brought in from Cyprus ahead of the start of the 2017/18 season, netted 18 times from 20 appearances.
The heart of the matter
Coromoinas, who is better known as Coro's performances have been quintessential for FC Goa in the recent times, something that has prompted the 2015 ISL finalists to extend the Spaniard's deal, giving a substantial pay raise to the striker, the club confirmed to Sportskeeda.
A number of ISL clubs were said to have been after Coro's signature after his heroic performances, but the 35-year-old decided to stay back at Goa, where he enjoys immense popularity.

However, the Gaurs are set to lose out on another one of their foreign stars, Manuel Lanzarote despite the fact that the 34-year-old had an option to extend his deal by another year.
What's next?
While Coro's extension is a huge boon for the Gaurs ahead of the upcoming season, the loss of Lanzarote is something that the club needs to deal with soon. The latter had ended the season with the third highest number of assists (six) in the ISL.

FC Goa have played some exciting brand of football under manager Sergio Lobera this season. However, a good playing style does not ensure results, as was evident from Delhi Dynamos and NorthEast United FC's games, as the two clubs finished third from bottom and bottom, respectively.
