#2 Head Coach
Phil Brown was appointed as the Head Coach of FC Pune City in December 2018 after the disastrous campaign of the Stallions in the first half of the league with just one win in 10 games under Miguel Angel Portugal, resulting in Technical Director Pradyum Reddy to take charge of the team.
Reddy and Brown combined well and a late surge from the Stallions led to five wins of the next eight games. Pune finished seventh last time around.
Brown's good end to the campaign of the Stallions last season is a sign of things to come for Hyderabad FC. Hyderabad FC has partially retained most of the squad of the erstwhile FC Pune City side and it will be helpful for Brown to build on the same lines.
Brown also has the experience of managing clubs like Bolton Wanderers and Blackpool back in England which will only be beneficial for Hyderabad FC.
#1 Squad
As mentioned earlier, Hyderabad FC have taken over the pre-existing contracts of the players with FC Pune City and hence already have a set squad. With the likes of experienced ISL campaigners like Marcelinho and Marko Stankovic already up in the ranks, Hyderabad FC look pretty balanced.
All eyes would be on Laldanmawia Ralte and Robin Singh to prove themselves on the big stage to make the cut into the Indian national team. Youngsters like Tarif Akhand, Deependra Negi and Nikhil Poojary are expected to be top contenders for the Emerging Player Awards.
New signings Rafael Lopez Gomez and Matthew Kilgallon add more resolution to the defence at the back which is key to win marathon tournaments like the ISL. Not to forget the presence of Nestor Gordillo upfront who ran riot against every defence from both the leagues last season for Chennai City.
The Full Squad is as follows :
