India-based football management agency The Football Edge are now representatives for former Liverpool Legend Robbie Fowler in India. The Football Edge will be promoting Robbie Fowler’s commercial and playing / coaching rights in India.
Robbie Fowler, a legend of football in England, is also known as ‘God” by fans at Liverpool FC where he played for a major part of his career and broke numerous records. He played for England in the Euro 96, Euro 2000 and the FIFA World Cup 2002. His 19-year career has taken him beyond Liverpool as well, to Manchester City, Leeds United, Cardiff City and Blackburn Rovers in England. He played two seasons in the A-League for North Queensland Fury and Perth Glory. In 2011 he moved to Muangthong United, the most well-known club in Thailand; he was a player-coach at the club, where he finished in 3rd place in the Thai League and reached the Thai FA Cup final after just 3 months in charge.
Robbie Fowler, who has already tasted success in Asia, added: “I am a keen follower of football in Asia and I think it has huge potential. India is a massive country and with right guidance and infrastructure can develop its football just like other countries that have emerged in global football over the past two to three decades. I am looking positively at ways in which I can help develop football in India, be it coaching or coming out and helping the football players and fans in India.”
Anuj Kichlu, CEO of The Football Edge added: “Being a big fan and follower of Robbie Fowler myself we are excited and happy to work with him. He is one of the most famous players and personalities from the English Premier League and if he can contribute even a fraction to Indian football of what he has done for world football, we will benefit for sure.”
Robbie has a ‘B’ License in coaching and is currently nearing the completion of the ‘A’ License with the English FA.
We wish Robbie all the best for whatever plans he has in store for India.
