After a lot of controversies over last few days, Mohun Bagan AC has finally released the veteran Indian winger Anthony Pereira. Anthony Pereira took two days’ leave from club on account of his father’s illness but he did not come back for the next few days, missing two matches of the Calcutta Premiere League.
The club coach and the officials were concerned about the future of the player in the club. In the meantime, it was rumored that Anthony was not happy with his wages, it was also said that he was not paid his advance payment.
However, club secretary Anjan Mitra said that Anthony took two days’ leave and did not come back for ten days, and his performance is also not up to the mark, so he has been released. Anthony has agreed to return all his advance payment to the club. He was most expensive Indian player this year for the club.
