Bengaluru FC and FC Goa locked horns in the Indian Super League (ISL) 2023 on Wednesday night (October 25). The top half of the points table witnessed some movement after the conclusion of the game.
Both sides failed to score a goal during the 90 minutes of the game across two halves and shared one point each after the game. FC Goa began the game in the second position in the points table behind Mohun Bagan Super Giants, while Bengaluru FC were ninth.
However, Bengaluru FC missed the opportunity to jump to the fifth place by securing all three points and are now left sitting in the ninth position. Meanwhile, FC Goa have pipped Mohun Bagan Super Giants to the top position in the ISL 2023 standings.
FC Goa now have 10 points with three wins and one draw after four matches. Meanwhile, Bengaluru FC now have four points with one win, one draw and two losses after their four games.
FC Goa drop two points against out-of-form Bengaluru FC with a goalless draw
Both FC Goa and Bengaluru FC entered the game searching for the vital three points. However, both teams failed to score a goal and had to share one point each at the full-time whistle.
Both teams shared the ball almost equally as FC Goa had 48% possession, while Bengaluru FC had 52% possession. However, both were wasteful in the final third and squandered plenty of chances on both ends.
FC Goa were more attacking between the two sides, with 20 shots on goal. But they could hit only seven shots on target. On the other hand, Bengaluru FC managed a total of 10 shots on FC Goa’s goal. They were really dismal in the attack and only managed two shots on target.
Now, FC Goa will take on Chennaiyin FC in their next ISL game on November 5, while Bengaluru FC will lock horns with Odisha FC in their next fixture of the Indian Super League 2023 on October 31.
