The sub-junior team of Odisha lost to Meghalaya 0-1 to finish runners-up in the under-16 final of the Coca-Cola Cup (Mir Iqbal Hussain Trophy) in a riveting match held at Father Agnels School, Vashi in Navi Mumbai on Tuesday.On Friday, a felicitation ceremony was held for the Odisha state sub-junior football team by the Football Association of Orissa at the Conference Hall of Barabati Palace in Cuttack.
Asirbad Behera, Honorary Secretary of the Odisha Olympic Association, was present at the ceremony as the chief guest. He also declared a cash award of Rs 2,000 for all the members of the sub-junior team.
The other dignitaries who were present at the felicitation ceremony were Bijaya Das (FAO Vice-President), Bhakta Ballav Das (FAO Vice-President), Ramesh Chandra Mallick (FAO Vice-President), Rushinath Sahoo (FAO Joint Secretary), Avijit Paul (FAO Joint Secretary), Mrs Sangeeta Sharma (FAO Joint Secretary), M.A. Alam (FAO Treasurer) and ex-international footballer Miss Shradhanjali Samantary.
