According to reports, Bikramjit Singh is willing to extend his contract with newly crowned I-League Champions Mohun Bagan for one more year. Singh has been at the club since 2013, first on loan from Churchill Brothers and then on a permanent basis.
Singh, 22, started his career in 2010 with Pailan Arrows, a team consisting of only U-19 players. He stayed with Pailan for two years before moving to Churchill Brothers in 2012. He stayed in Goa for just over a year as he was loaned out to Bagan who signed him up permanently a year later.
Bikramjit played an integral role in the team as the Mariners won their first ever I-League crown with the youngster appearing in 18 of the 20 matches. He even scored his first goal for the Kolkata side in a 4-1 rout of nearest rivals Bengaluru FC.
This comes as good news for Bagan fans who have already seen Bello Razaq, the hero on the final day of the season, leave for bitter rivals East Bengal. Singh has currently joined FC Goa for the second season of the ISL and will return to Bagan for the I-League on loan from the ISL club.
