Indian goalkeeper Gurpreet Singh Sandhu was on the bench in Stabaek’s 3-2 away victory over third-placed Stromsgodset in the Norway's top-most league on Saturday.
As revealed by Sportskeeda on Friday, Gurpreet made Stabaek’s 18-man match squad for the first time after signing a historic three-year deal with the Norway top-tier outfit.
Ivorian goalkeeper Sayouba Mande played the full 90 minutes as Stabaek recorded their eighth win of the season. Stabaek were leading 3-0 but Stromsgodset pulled two back to ensure a nervy finish for Gurpreet’s team.
Gurpreet would be hoping to feature regularly in the match squad but will face tough competition from Borger Thomas.
The 22-year-old Punjabi lad has already made one league appearance for the Stabaek reserves in Norway’s third tier and is expected to start in their next fixture against Vard on Monday.
